Hello! Thanks for stopping by.
I'm Monica. Writer, Podcast Host and Author.
I’m here to share stories that elevate and empower you to be your best and live out your dream
—however that looks for you.
Since I can remember, I have always had an innate desire to be my best, to evolve and know myself.
And that my friend is a lifelong journey. I believe that being my best demands me to rise to the occasion (whatever that is in that moment), and let’s be real…I often fall flat on my face. Yet, what I know to be true about myself is that I don’t give up. If it’s something I love, I’m committed and I’m going all the way.
My greatest love is interviews. People’s personal stories have always fascinated me. I love hearing about the dreams people have in their hearts, the adversity they’ve faced, and I’m constantly curious about how they’ve navigated those challenging parts of their lives—and who they've grown into because of it.
Aside from producing my podcast (The Monica Kade podcast), I’m so into words, writing, entrepreneurship, health and fitness. CrossFit is my jam. Black coffee awakens my soul. New York City is my lover. And the ocean, well…that is my one true love. I’m a (summertime) surfer and can snowboard.
From about 18 years old, the “What am I supposed to do with my life?” question plagued me.
I realised my love of writing and interviewing when I started my first business (at 20), an online magazine (back before social media and the digital revolution). It was one in a handful on the market. Okay, maybe two handfuls. Mink Magazine featured upcoming talent in the creative arts. Pursuing acting at that time in my life, I’d found it so challenging to get a break and I figured there must be others just like me who had brilliant skills and produced incredible work, but the media weren’t interested.
This led me to start a successful career blog: Career Confessions, (while living in NYC) where I interviewed many successful individuals on how they got to where they were. I then went on to be a magazine editor, publicist and freelance writer.
I’ve now been interviewing for over 13 years. Crazy, huh? Yet, it’s where I find myself most alive.
In doing so I've had the pleasure and opportunity to interview some of the greatest minds and thought leaders including: Lewis Howes, Sheri Salata, Danielle La Porte, Kate Northrup, Katee Sackhoff, Christine Hassler, Gabrielle Bernstein, JP Sears, Pete Evans, Scott Gooding, Luke Hines, Guy Kawasaki, Lisa Messenger, Nathan Chan, Amir Zoghi & Ghazaleh Lowe (Bondi Guru)—gosh and so many others!
I love making connections with people from all walks of life who are doing what they love and making an impact in the world—and being the conduit to share their story with you.
I’m deeply passionate about us all doing what we love. A lot of that stems from me NOT doing what I loved so many times over. That mixed in with the excuses, the story and self-doubt just got old.
So here I am, ready to share with you my journey and the people who move me. May each conversation that you listen, read or personally have with me, empower you to be your best and go after what you love.

Meet Monica Kade; author, podcast host and word lover. Over the years she's had the pleasure of interviewing hundreds of people doing what they love and challenging the status quo. Her love for interviewing was born from an intuitive whisper that one day spoke loud and clear as she walked through the grounds of her university, it said, "I want to start a magazine". At 20 years old, she went on to start her first business; an online magazine: Mink. In its day it was one of a kind, featuring the up-comers in the creative arts. At a time when online mags were rare and few, Monica ran a team in Sydney and Melbourne for 2 years. After that, she moved to New York City to start new adventures—but always interviewing.
She's written for Collective Hub, Thrive Global, Commbank's Women in Focus and her successful online ventures include Mink Magazine, Career Confessions; Editor for WorkDifferent and Managing editor for print publications: Aspire and My Business magazine.
Monica also runs Monica Wrote It, a copywriting business helping brands fine-tune their brand messaging to communicate with purpose, clarity and power. She’s worked with many global brands: Commonwealth Bank, AGL, Xero, Nurture Her, Christine Hassler, Gabrielle Bernstein, Infamous Swim—amongst others.
In 2008, she was nominated as an Anthill Business Magazine Top 30 under 30 Entrepreneur. Monica has also spoken at Commbank’s Wired for Wonder, Northside Clinic, Vibewire's FastBREAK U-Turn and Macquarie University's AIESEC Tour.
Monica has appeared on podcasts Seek The Joy, Fierce Entrepreneurs, The Ladies Lounge, The Super Mom podcast, The Zen Business Podcast, Leading Rebels, The Gratitude Podcast, Dreaming & Doing with Nicky Raby, Break the Facade Project and Promenade with Me. She's also been interview on Ch7 Sunrise and featured in CLEO magazine, Collective Hub, The Cool Career and PsychCentral.
She has an ongoing love affair with the ocean, especially on a rainy day. She loves sunset over sunrise—for the pastel colours—and drinks black coffee. Monica has also lived in NYC—her second love affair. She's an avid snowboarder, summertime surfer and loves CrossFit.
